A Brief Overview of my Wedding Services

John Thomas has been photographing weddings for over 20 years, starting in the San Francisco Bay Area. Shooting about 35 weddings a year he quickly became one of the best-known wedding photographers in Northern California. Indulging his boundless curiosity with photography he also became an accomplished commercial and portrait photographer.

In the course of his career John has photographed just about everything that would hold still for his camera (and a few that wouldn’t). From boxes of videotape to Chinese Junks, lobsters to hang gliders, Buddhist temples to paint cans, brides to CEO’s, John has photographed them all. The latest side of his multifaceted career has been a move into photojournalism. This has allowed him to combine two of his great loves: photography and story telling. Telling stories with pictures is an art form that evolved with the development of photography and culminated in the great photo magazines: Life, Look, and National Geographic.

It is this photojournalistic style that informs John’s approach to wedding photography. Ever on the watch for the fun and the spontaneous John strongly believes that your wedding photographs should be as individual as you are. They must show the beauty, emotion, and joy of this one uniquely memorable day. The best wedding photographs show the bonds of love between the bride and groom, and the families involved. And that’s just what John accomplishes.

Your wedding day is several stories at once: it is the culmination of a relationship that has grown to the apex of all human relationships, it is the start of a great adventurous journey, and it is a fun party! John endeavors to capture all of these interweaving stories that make up the day.

John has designed his packages to provide the maximum of economy, and flexibility. Each "Package" consists of coverage time, a Standard Album, and credit towards the purchase of additional reprints. Many other photographers do not allow changes in their set packages, with John, all the packages are completely flexible, allowing you to "mix and match" your exact desires. Custom Heirloom Albums may be purchased separately, and it is possible to apply a credit to the purchase of an Heirloom Album.

There are two types of albums John offers his clients. The Standard Album is the album included in the package fee. The albums come in beautiful simulated leather covers in your choice of color, and gold trimmed pages also in a choice of colors. The pages consist of standard prints with one print per page in the album. The size of the album indicates the size of the print on each page The photo sizes range from 4x5 to 8x10. (The album cover is a bit larger). When you receive your proof CD you will also receive complete details on the album choices and how to order your album and reprints.

Utilizing the latest in digital technology allows John to create his Custom Heirloom Albums. As an upgrade from the Standard Album, or purchased separately, these custom designed albums enhance the treasured memories of your special day. Each page is a unique montage of images from your wedding day. Special effects such as black and white, sepia, custom borders, and drop shadows add drama and an extra dimension of creativity to the images. There are several styles of albums that John creates. When you receive your proof CD you will also receive samples of the various styles. No matter which style you select, your Heirloom album will individually created to reflect your personality.
